Born in 1971, Rusell Allen ground himself, like so many musicians, thrust into the thick of a musical family. His family's interests, however, were in the charge of country music, rather than Allen's chosen style of hard rock/heavy metal. After playacting with legion nameless bands, Allen joined Symphony X in 1995. He was the successor for original singer Rod Tyler and has been with the band ever since.
